As we ring in another new year, I thought it’d be fun to share some of my favorite images from 2015. From backstage portraits at Sonar in Iceland, to the first-ever Billboard Hot 100 Festival, and a couple assignments for Rolling Stone, it was a great year. Here are just a few of my favorite live music photos of 2015!
2015 was a year of big personal and professional changes for me. My wife and I moved back to New York from Reykjavík, Iceland after she got accepted into graduate school. I was working closely in the music scene there for almost two years, and shared some unforgettable experiences with friends and family. Too much to list here but Iceland will always be a very special place to me and I’m sure that I’ll continue working with local musicians in the future. Living abroad gave me some much needed time and space to think critically about what I want to do and to continue to hone my craft. I feel a renewed sense of purpose and excitement in photography, and I want to make the most of the opportunities in NYC.
Admittedly, I was a little worried how it’d be getting back into the swing of things here but it’s been better than expected so far (knock on wood). I’ve been very fortunate to not only hook back up with former clients, but also connect with a bunch of new clients. My transition back to the States definitely wouldn’t have been possible without everyone that I worked with in the past year and I’m sincerely grateful. Thank you all!
I look forward to more big things in the coming year. I’m going to try to share more posts here again so I hope you’ll continue to visit. Happy new year to all the music fans and photographers out there!by
